Join fellow alumni, families, and members of the Maryknoll Community Alliance for one of the most meaningful traditions of Alumni Week. Lei Making Day brings together generations of the Maryknoll ʻohana to create beautiful lei that will be shared at the Alumni Lūʻau.

More than a workshop, this gathering is a celebration of connection, generosity, and the spirit of aloha that continues to unite the Maryknoll community.

Whether you are an experienced lei maker or trying it for the very first time, all are welcome. Come reconnect, share stories, and help carry forward a tradition that honors both our school and our Hawaiʻi roots.

How You Can Help:

  • Join the Lei Making Workshop: Learn, create, and enjoy time with fellow Spartans and MCA families.
  • Donate Flowers or Supplies: Contributions are greatly appreciated and help us create enough lei for all Alumni Lūʻau guests.

Suggested donations include:
  • Ti leaf
  • Plumeria
  • Puakenikeni
  • Crown flower (white or purple)
  • Needles, thread, ribbon, and other lei-making supplies
We hope to create hundreds of lei to welcome and honor our alumni community throughout Alumni Week.

Why We Make Lei:

  • To celebrate the generations of the Maryknoll community
  • To honor the tradition of giving and receiving aloha
  • To symbolize the connection, continuity, and shared identity that bind Spartans together
  • To create a meaningful gift for every guest attending the Alumni Lūʻau

Every flower, every lei, and every helping hand becomes part of the larger story of Maryknoll. Together, we continue a tradition that celebrates belonging and reminds us that we are forever connected as one Spartan ʻohana.

RSVP below and help us create something beautiful together.
