Water of Life Spring Concert 2023
May 16, 2022 @ 6:00pm
📍 Sacred Heart Church

This year’s Maryknoll Choir Spring Concert, “Water of Life,” was held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, and celebrates water through music in its many forms — gentle rain, relaxing natural springs, powerful thunderstorms, flowing rivers, mighty ocean waves, and the healing water of life.

Choir Director Julianne Hiu shares in her message, “The importance of water is honored around the world through the sharing of cultural stories and music. Our choir hopes this concert will inspire our audience to research more about the significance of water and continue a conversation about how we can do our part to care for this precious resource.”

Mahalo to Mrs. Shelverton and her 8th-grade art students for providing the cover art for this year’s program.

Winter Choir Concert 2022
December 13, 2022 @ 6:00pm
📍 Sacred Heart Church

From festive gatherings filled with the warmth of family and friends to quiet moments spent in prayer, Christmas is a time to give thanks for our blessings. Maryknoll Choir's 2022 Winter Concert, "Peace, Joy, Love," reflects on these special gifts of the season.

Under the direction of Ms. Julianne Hiu, our middle and high school choir students will present music from a variety of genres, including sacred music of the Renaissance and Romantic eras, a Medieval Christmas carol, contemporary a cappella, and of course, beloved Christmas pop songs and traditional hymns!

This year marks Hiu’s 10th year as a choir director at Maryknoll. Prior to being at Maryknoll, Hiu was the director of Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Chorus in Lihue, Kauai. She currently serves as the assistant director of Honolulu Blend Show Chorus, an a cappella women's chorus. In February 2020, Honolulu Blend was honored to collaborate with the Maryknoll Choir at the Maryknoll Pa'ina. Hiu also sings as a member of the chorus and is the lead singer of the Keeping' it Real quartet.

Hiu holds a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Vocal Music from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and a Master of Music Education in Choral Music from Florida State University.

The Maryknoll Choir invites you to experience the meaning of peace, joy, and love through song! Admission to the Choir Winter Concert is free, and no tickets are required. If you have questions, please contact Julianne Hiu at julianne.hiu@maryknollschool.org
