Maryknoll Student Selected for Center for Tomorrow's Leaders' Fellowship Program

Maryknoll student Gelsey Manipon has been selected as a fellow by the Center for Tomorrow's Leaders for the 2016-2017 academic year. CTL is a local non-profit organization that is dedicated to teaching and empowering Hawaii's future leaders.
As part of the CTL Fellows Program, Gelsey will collaborate with four other students on a capstone project that aims to solve a problem in the community. The group will work with a mentor and receive guidance on the creation, pitch, execution and presentation of their project. All student projects will be presented at a culminating gala event in April, where students will present their projects to community leaders and program supporters.

Through the program, fellows also learn public speaking skills, develop important leadership skills, and have the opportunity to meet local leaders. Gelsey was one of 20 students from private and public schools on Oahu chosen to participate in the program.

In addition to her fellowship, Gelsey also serves as a student ambassador, treasurer of the ASL Club, and is a member of the Speech and Debate teams. Along with four teammates, she also earned a spot in the upcoming Hawaii LifeSmarts State Competition. We are so proud of her accomplishments!

Students who are interested in the CTL Fellows Program can learn more and download an application on the CTL website.
