Ash Wednesday and the Beginning of Lent

Maryknoll School
Today, we gathered as a community to solemnly celebrate Ash Wednesday as it signifies the beginning of Lent, a time when we repent, fast, and reflect.

Our campus ministry team shares a passage from the Directory for Popular Piety #125 that says: "The act of putting on ashes symbolizes fragility and mortality, and the need to be redeemed by the mercy of God. The faithful who come to receive ashes should be assisted in perceiving the implicit internal significance of this act, which disposes them towards conversion and renewed Easter commitment."

We hope you and your family have a blessed and fruitful observance of the Lenten Season.
