Statement Regarding Black Lives Matter Movement
Maryknoll Community: Please see our school and parish response to the recent national and global campaign related to Black Lives Matter movement.
Rooted in our Catholic Faith and grounded in the tradition handed down from our founding Maryknoll Sisters, Sacred Heart Church & Maryknoll School believes that all men and women are created in the image and likeness of God. We are called into the Trinitarian Life in which there is perfect unity and love shared between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and because of this, humankind must always preserve this unity and love among each other. In recent weeks, our country has seen an uprising in the demand of equity and justice for those who have suffered the horrible and sinful acts of racism which does not promote unity or true authentic love in society.
As a parish and school community, Maryknoll remains committed to promoting Christian values in all of our students, faculty, and staff and peacefully standing in solidarity with those who are looked down upon because of race, social background, and at this time with our black brothers and sisters. We repent of the sins of our nation and we pray for peace, unity, and love for all of humanity.
