Alfred M.K. Wong
Board Member Emeritus
Alfred M.K. Wong is retired from the firm of Takushi Wong Lee & Yee Law Corporation in Honolulu. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Al served on the Board of the Hawaii Bar Association where he chaired numerous Sections, including the Real Property and Financial Services Section. He is a former Chair of the Judicial Selection Commission of the State of Hawaii.
Al served as President and Board member of the Waialae Country Club. He is a member of the American Law Institute. Al was an adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law teaching real property.
Al has been an active member of the community for nearly four decades, holding volunteer leadership positions for numerous organizations including the Friends of Hawaii Charities, Girl Scout Council of Hawaii, Niu Valley Community Association, Friends of the William Richardson Law School, and the Hawaii Judicial Selection Commission.
Al has been a member of the Maryknoll School Board since 1995, serving as board chair for 8 years. He was also co-chair of the capital campaign to build the Maryknoll School Community Center. Al is married to Laurie Hong Wong. They have two children and four grandchildren.
While attending UC Hastings, Al was the Associate Editor of the Hastings Law Review and was named the Alumnus of the Year in 1997. Al earned his bachelor’s degree from Marquette University.
Al has served on the Boards of the Hastings Alumni Association and 1066 Foundation and received the Distinguished Service Award in 2016 from the Hawaii Hastings Alumni Association.
