Financial Aid & Scholarship

How to Apply for Financial Aid

Each year Maryknoll School offers need-based financial aid to families who qualify. Maryknoll uses School and Student Services (SSS) by NAIS to help determine eligibility. Recommendations made by SSS are reviewed by the Financial Aid Committee and may be adjusted accordingly. The family’s total income and assets, number of children attending tuition-charging schools, housing costs, medical expenses, debt obligations, and other special circumstances are also considered. It is important to keep in mind that while we try to assist as many qualified students as possible, financing a private school education remains the primary responsibility of the family. Maryknoll requires both parents (whether divorced, separated or never married) to complete the financial aid process.

Families of returning students must reapply each year for financial assistance. In order for returning students to receive financial aid, they must have demonstrated commitment to academics and co-curricular activities and participated positively in the school community. A returning student’s family who is in arrears with its financial obligation to the school will be ineligible to receive aid until the balance is resolved; this may jeopardize the possibility of receiving aid the following year.

Step 1: APPLY ONLINE at sss.nais.org/parents

All applicants are required to apply online with School and Student Services (SSS) by completing the Parents Financial Statement (PFS) and submitting the online processing fee of $51. Please be aware of the following information while completing your PFS:
- Maryknoll School’s code: 4913
- Maryknoll School’s FINANCIAL AID DEADLINE: February 24, 2019

Step 2: UPLOAD DOCUMENTS - Maryknoll requires the following documents:

  • Signed 2018 Federal Tax Return (IRS 1040) with all schedules/attachments
  • 2018 W-2s and/or 1099s
  • Current property assessment information of all owned real estate
  • If you own a business, you are also required to complete the SSS Business/Farm Statement available online on the SSS website.
NOTE: You must complete & submit your PFS & upload the required documents online before the deadline of February 24, 2019, in order for the Financial Aid Committee to complete their review of your application. Maryknoll School’s Financial Aid Committee reserves the right to request additional information/documentation in their review to determine a family’s financial need.

Remember

  • All financial aid information is strictly confidential.
  • Admission decisions and financial aid awards are kept separate.
  • Requesting financial aid in no way jeopardizes your child’s opportunity for admission to Maryknoll School.
