Alumni Week Brings Generations of Spartan Alumni Together
Mahalo to all those that were able to join us for Alumni Week 2019 last month! We sincerely hope you enjoyed reconnecting with classmates, friends, and other alumni over the course of the week!
On Friday, July 12th, Spartans past, and present came together to tee off at the 28th Annual FORE! Golf Tournament held at Leilehua Golf Course. The tournament inaugurated the time-honored tradition of our annual Alumni Week. On the green, Harry Nomura '47 and Coel (Tiger) Berardy '27 were paired together on the same team and were the oldest and youngest players of the tournament. The celebratory day ended with ono food, prizes and bragging rights of another year at the top.
On Sunday, July 14th, Aiea Bowl was beaming with Noblesse Oblige and Spartan pride as we held the Jared Kaufmann ‘58 Bowl-A-Rama. Spartans showcased their bowling skills as they reminisced upon their time back at Maryknoll School. Congrats to Leilani Kaopua '88 and Kelly Grant '84 on being crowned champions of the bowl-a-rama with the highest female and male scores, respectively.
The week bookended with Alumni Mass at Sacred Heart Church and our Annual Alumni Reunion Luauat the Clarence T.C. Ching Gymnasium. We had an honorary visit by our Maryknoll Sisters, celebrated students that paved the way for current generations and a rekindling of memories between classes that made for an unforgettable night. We also celebrated the 50th reunion of this year's jubilarians, the Class of 1969!
