  • Micaiah Cape '22 for Psychiatrist.com

    Maryknoll Marketing & Communications
Micaiah Cape '22 is Noblesse Oblige in action! An academic in his own rite, Cape published an article in psychiatrist.com titled "Astronomical Use of Nitrous Oxide Associated With Stress From the COVID-19 Pandemic and Lockdown". At Maryknoll School, Cape is pursuing a certificate in STEM in the Maryknoll Pathway program!

In late 2020, Cape volunteered as a research assistant at the Department of Psychiatry, University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), supervised by Dr. William Haning, a recognized addiction psychiatrist and board member of UH Board of Regents. The two presented their research at the Hawaii Addiction Conference as well as the Biomedical Symposium at JABSOM.

We are inspired by Cape's drive and intellect and cannot wait to see what more he discovers! To learn more about Maryknoll's Pathway Program and STEM opportunities at Maryknoll, visit our website.

This event marks the first in a year-long cultural exchange, a partnership that the two schools have been fostering since 2013. Maryknoll School prioritizes not only learning about other cultures but empathizing and creating a space where multiculturalism is celebrated.

  • Mary Jane Vannatta named "The Golden Pineapple" Teacher of the Year

By Anna Weaver, Hawaii Catholic Herald
Mary Jane Vannatta was irritated. It was the end of the school year, her computer was acting up, and she needed to give her students a quiz. Plus, for some reason, other Maryknoll School faculty members kept telling Vannatta that she and her class should watch a livestream of the Hawaii Catholic Schools’ annual recognition ceremony.

    Commencement – Important Update!
We are pleased to announce that the 2021 Maryknoll School Commencement Ceremony will be held at the Maryknoll Community Center!

Our original venue, Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall, has been designated a COVID vaccination site and is unable to accommodate public events through the month of June.  We are very excited to hold this year’s Commencement Ceremony at home on the Maryknoll campus, and look forward to this special event.

Due to the limits of our gym, only 2 guests per senior will be allowed to attend.  The campus will be closed to the public for lei-giving.  Families are encouraged to arrange their own drive-by, should they choose to, on another date and location.
