Community Service

Maryknoll School's Community Service requirement stems from the commitment to our motto, Noblesse Oblige, “to whom much is given, much is expected.” The goal is to raise consciousness and encourage action with respect to moral and social problems.

  • Local Outreach

Throughout the year, there are various avenues for students to give their time and efforts to those in the community who need it the most. Here are some suggested resources for finding volunteer opportunities in the community:
  • Mission Trips

Each year, students and faculty have the opportunity to be missioners in a developing country where the Maryknoll Religious have worked or are currently working.

For over 20 years, Maryknoll has maintained a relationship with Assumption High School in Majuro, Marshall Islands. This three-week mission trip challenges our students to delve deeper into social justice issues while teaching a freshman summer school class in Math and English.

Participants will visit the Maryknoll (Miriam) College in Quezon City and the Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary in Baguio City. This trip is a community immersion experience and a Service-Learning Opportunity. Participants will also learn about the works of the Maryknoll Sisters and Maryknoll Affiliates.
  • Retreat Leadership

Those called to serve the grade level retreats share and grow their faith experience while leading others to do the same.
