Reminder: Evening On The Lawn is on Friday, October 18th!
Aloha Maryknoll School Community,
Now that we're two days away from the first "Evening On The Lawn" event, we wanted to take this opportunity to share the official details of what to expect on Friday!
Our inaugural "On The Lawn" series will feature food booths, activities, prizes and live music from local recording artists Kapena and Johnny Suite! All Maryknoll families, students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends are welcome to join us for the fun!
Don’t forget to bring your own lawn chairs, mats, and blankets. We want you to get comfortable under the stars as our artists take the stage! Here’s our exciting line up for the evening:
- 5:30PM (event start): Opening remarks and prayer by Father EJ and MC @howsdisguy
- 5:45 - 6:45PM: Kapena
- 6:45 - 7:00PM: MC @howsdisguy
- 7:00 - 8:00PM: Johnny Suite
While we have secured additional parking, we are expecting a large turnout! Please be sure to carpool or take advantage of our rideshare discount with Lyft (drop-off/pick-up at Dole Street driveway).

Local Stop Food Truck started in 2010 and has since won multiple cook-off competitions islandwide including the "Taste of Kamehameha" and "NOH Brand Food Truck Cook-Off". Local Stop pride themselves on never having a set menu because they truly do it all. Some items you'll find on their "On The Lawn" menu include Kalbi BBQ short ribs, ribeye steak, Korean BBQ chicken, Kalua Pig Mauna Kea nachos with more surprises in store!
Alejandro's Tacos is known for their authentic flavors that come from homestyle recipes starting with fresh & simple ingredients. They hope to create authentic Mexican food that brings people together and makes their bellies smile. We're excited to try their "On The Lawn" menu options consisting of carnitas and beef tacos, burritos, and cheese quesadillas!
Nalo Snow will be bringing their signature self-serve 10 flavor stations and offering their "fluffy & snowy" shave ice with up to 2 toppings (Li-Hing Mui Powder and/or sweet condensed milk) throughout the night.
Waiola is a Hawaii-based company created by fellow Spartan alumnus, David Lin '94, that strives to make the highest quality all-natural fruit-based products. They are known for their 100% premium coconut water designed with the minimalist credo of “less is more.” The sole ingredient of this all-natural beverage is coconut water – there are no added sweeteners or preservatives. Alongside their coconut water, they will be offering coconut chips (original & chocolate) and their newly launched 100% watermelon juice.
In partnership with HMAA, La Tour Cafe (Trung '99 & Brandon '02 Lam) will be offering their signature Furikake Puffs, palmier pastries and a custom pack of their classic macarons in Maroon (Red Velvet), Gold (Lilikoi), & Pink (Guava) for HMAA's Breast Cancer Awareness October Campaign.
HMAA (Jason '04, Cris '02 & Nikki '07 Baptiste) will be giving away swag bags all night long and hosting family-friendly activities including: beanbag toss, giant-sized Operation game, and a variety of Nintendo Switch Fitness games.
