Class of 2000 alum, Darlene Ramones, M.D., Shares Her Experiences With Our High School Students
Maryknoll Marketing & Communications
Earlier this month, we were thrilled to welcome back Dr. Darlene Ramones, M.D., a proud Class of 2000 alumna and our very first Kekumano Scholarship Recipient. Dr. Ramones spoke with our AP Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology and Intro to Health Professions students about the path she took to medical school and provided helpful insights for those looking into entering health care professions.
As Maryknoll School's first Kekumano Scholarship Recipient, Dr. Ramones also emphasized the importance of service and giving back. She also expressed how Maryknoll's Catholic education provided her with the foundation and faith necessary to make it through medical school. While visiting, Dr. Ramones also answered students' questions on how to prepare for college and medical school.
Dr. Ramones is currently a Family Medicine Physician at The Queen's Health Care Centers - Kapolei. She received her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean and completed her residency at Mercy Medical Center. Mahalo to Dr. Ramones for coming back to her alma mater and sharing her experiences with our students!
