Maryknoll Civil Air Patrol Cadet is a Top Leader
Zachary Simbajon '19, one of Maryknoll's Civil Air Patrol cadets, is one of the top leaders on this year's Civil Air Patrol encampment.
This past weekend during the Civil Air Patrol’s National Conference, the Hawaii members that were in attendance were also providing live mission planning, coordination, and assistance for Hurricane Lane disaster preparedness and relief efforts on the Big Island. Given the magnitude of the situation, the Hawaii Wing Civil Air Patrol and its qualified members have been activated to provide disaster relief and assessment efforts on the Big Island.
On Monday, Cadet Captain Zachary Simbajon started working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the State of Hawaii Emergency Management Agency to provide disaster assessment analysis alongside other members of the Hawaii Wing Civil Air Patrol, and Captain Jennifer Herrington. His role was a Mission Radio Operator for the Incident Command Post at Kona.
Thank you for making us so proud, Zachary!
