Maryknoll’s Boys Varsity Baseball team defeated the Mid-Pacific Owls with a score of 3-2 on March 4 to capture their first Interscholastic League of Honolulu win of the season.
Senior right-handed pitcher Matt Dunaway, ‘17 pitched six no-hit innings, allowing only one unearned run to score at the top of the second. Maryknoll quickly tied the game in the bottom of that same inning.
Mid-Pacific took the lead 2-1 at the top of the seventh inning on a squeeze bunt play, recording its only hit of the game.
Maryknoll promptly tied the game at 2-2 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning on a RBI base hit single to right field by senior Chayson Dulatre, ’17.
Maryknoll broke the tie on a wild pitch by the Mid-Pacific reliever to win the game 3-2.
