Summer School & Intersession Programs

Maryknoll School invites all lifelong learners to experience an unforgettable summer. Your child can explore their interests and accelerate their academics through a variety of our K-12 programs. With programs from Mandarin Immersion, Hands-On Science, Kitchen Chemistry, Introduction to Digital Media and core academic classes, your child’s summer is sure to be memorable.

  • Mandarin Immersion

    We offer dual-language Mandarin Immersion for students entering grades K-2.  Students  will learn to develop skills in listening, speaking, reading and math readiness in both Mandarin and English. Children will be immersed in Mandarin for 2 hours and in English for 2 hours. See the full course description in the 2021 Summer Programs Brochure.
  • Hands-On Science, Robotics and Math

    We offer a variety of science, robotics and math classes. Check out our 2021 Summer Program Brochure to learn more about our S.T.E.M. classes and camps for grades K-12, including:
    • Science classes featuring hands-on learning for students in grades K-5.
    • LEGO Bricks and LEGO robotics classes that introduce engineering, architecture, physics and more (grades 1-3 and 4-6).
    • Math Exploration (grades 1-7) and Algebra Preview (grade 8).
    • S.T.E.M. Adventure Camp (grades K-3: July 19-30) where campers will be introduced to the world of S.T.E.M. using LEGO Bricks.
    • Introduction to Digital Media and People Skills , enrichment classes for our middle level students (grades 6-8).
    • Full credit and half credit High School math and science courses including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Biology, and Chemistry (grades 9-12; exact grade levels vary by course).
  • Language Arts

    Sign up your child to strengthen their reading and writing skills this summer! Find out more in our 2021 Summer Program Brochure about classes such as:
    • First Steps (kindergarten)
    • Fun with Language Arts (grades 1-5)
    • Literature and Writing (grades 6-8)
  • Technology

    Software is everywhere. It’s shaping almost every aspect of our lives! Does your child want to learn to code? Check out our 2021 Summer Programs Brochure for classes and camp options like:
    • Code It! (grades 1-3 and 4-6) featuring puzzles, video lectures by Mark Zuckerberg and characters from popular games like Angry Birds and Plants vs. Zombies.
    • DIrector's Chair: Animation Style (grades 6-8) where students will create moving images focusing on computer animation. 
    • Introduction to Digital Media (grades 6-8) where students learn new uses for their smartphone in the ever-growing digital world.

    • First Steps preparation class for kindergarten, designed to develop skills in listening, speaking, reading, math readiness and independent work.
    • Summer After School Care Recreation Program (grades K-6, 12:15 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.) featuring learning centers in arts and crafts, cooking, outdoor games and LEGOrobotics, as well as weekly off-campus excursions (if available).
    • SAT Prep (grades 10-12) for students who want to raise their SAT I scores and build vocabulary and math skills.
  • Intersession Programs: July 19-31, 2021 (exact dates vary by camp)

    • S.T.E.M. Adventure Camp (grades K-3: July 19-31) where campers will be introduced to the world of S.T.E.M. using LEGO Bricks.
