Maryknoll School - Grade School Division

Walk through our schoolyard and you will find an atmosphere that encourages understanding and communication.  Children chatter happily around a game of tether ball.  A few steps away, two children sit engrossed as a classmate describes a recent field trip to the Hawaii Nature Center.

At Maryknoll, the educational experience provides the academic, spiritual, and social grounding for our students. At each level, children are exposed to a wide range of disciplines: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Religion, Social Studies, Music, Computers, Physical Education, Art and Guidance.

The Grade School begins with our Early Childhood Program (Grades Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 2), where children develop and learn through spontaneous, self-directed activities and learning centers, along with the introduction of a more structured environment.  Our goal is to cultivate a natural desire to learn.

Children continue on into the Elementary Program (Grades 3, 4 and 5) excited about learning and ready for these formative years.  It is a time when the foundations of learning are laid, and at the same time, allows them to explore the world.

As these children become young adolescents, our Middle School Program (Grades 6, 7 and 8), recognizes the rapid and extensive changes in all areas of development (physical, intellectual, psychological, social and moral).  We also recognize that successful schooling at this level is largely dependent upon how sensitive and responsive schools are at this age group.

All of these areas speak to what is so special about Maryknoll Grade School.
