Perry K. Martin
President, Maryknoll School
Perry Martin has served as President of Maryknoll School since July 1, 2008. Michael Baker, who served for 11 years as the first lay president of Maryknoll School, retired at the end of the 2007-2008 school year.
Mr. Martin brings nearly 30 years of educational experience to the position, including more than a decade of Catholic high school administration. He most recently served as Principal and performed the duties of President at Marist Catholic High School (Eugene, OR), a property of the Archdiocese of Portland.
During his tenure, Mr. Martin led the school through a three-year Archdiocesan bankruptcy, raising substantial funds to improve school finances and achieving the first “black” budget in seven years. He also helped to transform Marist High School from an aging school with limited computer access to a modern and efficient state-of-the-art technological one with laptops, projectors, and multimedia applications in every classroom and four modern computer labs for student use.
Under Mr. Martin’s leadership the school also increased student enrollment, provided faculty raises, and planned and implemented long-range strategic plans.
Mr. Martin was previously Principal of Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Medford, OR. He also held teaching positions in Oregon and Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Martin received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Western Oregon State College. He also holds an Elementary and Secondary Administrative Certificate from The College of New Jersey.
Perry Martin and his wife Leann have two children – their daughter Casey attends the Arts Institute in Portland, OR and their son Jameson attends Western Oregon State College.
The President of Maryknoll School is appointed by the Maryknoll School Board.
